Bellevue Passage Museum Receives $10k from Maryland Humanities SHINE Grant
We are delighted to announce that Bellevue Passage Museum has been awarded the prestigious Marilyn Hatza Memorial SHINE Grant for 2024, receiving $10,000 in general operating support. This generous grant is part of Maryland Humanities’ initiative to strengthen the humanities across our diverse state, providing crucial funding to nonprofits conducting vital work in the humanities.
The SHINE Grant Program, which stands for Strengthening the Humanities Investment in Nonprofits for Equity, aims to lower barriers and offer equitable funding opportunities to organizations statewide.
Receiving the SHINE Grant will significantly enhance our ability to continue our mission of documenting and preserving Bellevue's rich African American cultural heritage. With this support, we can further our community engagement, historical research, and cultural conservation efforts, ensuring that Bellevue’s unique stories and heritage are celebrated and shared with a wider audience.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Maryland Humanities and the State of Maryland for this incredible opportunity and their ongoing support.
Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming projects and programs made possible by the SHINE Grant. Thank you for being part of our journey to preserve and celebrate Bellevue’s vibrant history and culture.
