Bellevue Passage Museum Awarded $250k from MD Governor Wes Moore and Maryland Historical Trust

We are excited to announce that the Bellevue Passage Museum has been awarded a $250,000 grant from Governor Wes Moore’s Commission on African American History and Culture and Maryland Historical Trust through their African American Heritage Preservation Program. This generous funding will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to conserve and celebrate Bellevue's rich African American heritage.

The awarded funds will support several key initiatives, including constructing a new annex, site work, and significant accessibility improvements. These enhancements will enable us to serve our community and future visitors better, providing a space for entrepreneurship, community gatherings, and educational programs for the younger generation.

With this grant, we are one step closer to becoming a beacon of African American culture and heritage in Talbot County. The new annex will allow us to expand our exhibits and programs, offering a more comprehensive and engaging experience for all who visit. The improved accessibility features will ensure BPM is welcoming and inclusive, allowing everyone to explore and appreciate Bellevue’s legacy.

We deeply thank Governor Moore and the Maryland Historical Trust for their support and commitment to preserving African American heritage. This funding is not just an investment in our museum but the community of Bellevue and its future. Thank you for being part of our journey.
